A dream...

I had a dream about this song last night. I wonder if it means anything...
I will come for you at nighttime
I will raise you from your sleep
I will kiss you in four places
As I go running along your street
I will squeeze the life out of you
You will make me laugh and make me cry
And we will never forget it
You will make me call your name
And I'll shout it to the blue summer sky
And we may never meet again
So shed your skin and let's get started
And you will throw your arms around me
Yeah, you will throw your arms around me
I dreamed of you at nighttime
And I watched you in your sleep
I met you in high places
I touched your head and touched your feet
So if you disappear out of view
You know I will never say goodbye
And though I try to forget it
You will make me call your name
And I'll shout it to the blue summer sky...
And we may never meet again...
So shed your skin and let's get started
And you will throw your arms around me
Yeah, you will throw your arms around me
Oh...yeah...
Ohhh yeah...
You will throw your arms around me...
Yeah, you will throw your arms around me....
And so another day begins in the life of the masquerade...

Where the wild rose grew...

... When he knocked on my door, and entered the room
My trembling subsided in his sure embrace
He would be my first man, and with a careful hand
He wiped down the tears that ran down my face ...

... On the second day he came with a single red rose
He said: Will you give me your loss and your sorrow?
I nodded my head, as I laid on the bed
If I show you the roses will you follow? ...

... On the third day he took me to the river
He showed me the roses, and we kissed
And the last thing I heard, was a muttered word
As he knelt above me with a rock in his fist ...

One would like to hope for a fourth day. Not now, but in the future would be nice...

My masquerade

This is me... or is it?

This is my chance to be the person that I want to be, as well as the person that I necessarily... may not want to be. At least in reality anyway.

Just one day is full of thousands of thoughts. Some are incredibly simple, such as what you are going to eat for breakfast, what time the train is that you are going to catch to work, or whether you should eat that booger you've just picked out of your nose because you think you know that nobody is looking. Others are quite complex; what you want to achieve in a day, a year, a lifetime, how you think you fit into the workplace, the family, the world, and why things are apparently always in threes.

I am on a mission that continually changes. More than ninety percent of the time it is me personally that makes such amendments, but on some occasions, it's not. And that's what keeps life interesting. The freedom of writing your words without putting your name to it; that anonymity... it's a fascinating masquerade.

"I think of myself as a grain of sand. You can make a difference. Have you ever walked around with a grain of sand in your shoe? It's not comfortable. What I do is that small, but I do think I have to give it away and I have to give it away beyond my existence." - Bernice Johnson Reagon

Enjoy.
